Hey guys! So it’s been a long time since I posted anything. Somehow the blog gets lost in the ever-growing list of things to do each day. I’m going to get started again with the blogging because a lot of people really enjoyed what I was writing about. Most of it was local to Baton Rouge, but many of my friends in other states enjoyed reading my “babbles” as well.

I have a new venture with Perfect Wedding Guide so I will have lots of fun stuff to tell you about. They contracted me through my event planning business, N-joY! Weddings & Events to produce ALL their events. It’s been a FUN ride so far! I produce their big bridal shows (January and July) that are the largest in South Louisiana. They’ve also let me re-structure their monthly bridal events. They used to have these mini-bridal shows that were basically just that…the same old bridal show on a smaller scale. I’ve made them into bridal events, called “A Wedding Soiree”, that focus on specific topics. For example, last month was Health/Beauty and this month is Party Night: Fun Ideas for Showers and Celebrations Before The Big Day. The brides have told me they really enjoy these events because they can see vendors that aren’t at your typical “bridal show”. I try to introduce new trends at every monthly installation- food trucks, antique brooch bouquets, and pole dancing bachelorette parties just to name a few. We are right in the middle of promos for the next Soiree that is going to be held October 27th. Check out some of the information here.

I also have lots of good stuff coming up for Bellaposa Collections. Coming up first, will be an event to get a jump start (or finish up…depending on what type of shopper you are, lol!) on your Christmas shopping. Will have more information soon, bur check out Mistletoe Market on Facebook.

I also asked fans of Bellaposa Collections to submit questions for what they wanted to know about me, Bellaposa, jewelry, basically anything. I got quite a few questions and will be answering them through this blog!

Hope y’all had TOO MUCH fun over the holidays! I had a blast visiting with family and friends and eating, eating, eating (haha!). Brent and I recently bought a house and we are still in the process of moving in/unpacking. Although we didn’t get to decorate this year, it was still BEYOND nice to have a place of our own to come home to after all the hustle and bustle of traveling. I think the house is the highlight of 2010 for me and I simply can not wait to have it organized and have people over!

I’ve spent the last week reflecting on the past year and trying to “map out” 2011 for Bellaposa Collections. Last year was my inaugural year and it was great! But I’m looking to make 2011 even better! There will be a few changes and I hope you all will join me on the ride.

I will be offering more custom design services. I have had many inquiries for providing jewelry for weddings, Christmas/New Year’s parties, Mardi Gras events, and other special occasions. Custom jewerly can be anything from simply finding a piece you like on the website but wanting to change the color/type of beads…to having me create a totally new piece of jewelry just for you!

I will also be adding a new and exciting feature to the website soon. A “Wish List” that can be utilized for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, just about any occasion. It’s still in the first stages of development, but basically you will be able to give me your wish list of items and I will send an email to the recipient of your choice (boyfriend, husband, mom, friend, etc). This email will be focused on your wish list items and serve as a type of electronic hint for gift giving! As I mentioned earlier, I’m still working out all the details so please feel free to give me some feedback.

I have made an extremely invaluable friendship this past    year. Elizabeth Hill, of Handmade at Homestead, has been giving me  some much needed advice. We will be partnering up on some events later in the year. I will keep you updated as those come up, but please take the time to check out her website as she has some amazing products that I know you will fall in love with. I am looking to do more networking this year to bring y’all interesting news about some cool local peeps!

The year’s last hurrah is right around the corner…New Year’s Eve. I am so excited I got to provide so many clients with their New Year’s accessories! Many came to me with the same dilemma: they didn’t want to spend a ton of money on a new dress, but wanted a way to change the look of a dress that is already in their closet. This is a GREAT idea, and I offered some tips to them. They really enjoyed the advice, so I thought I’d share with all of you.

If you can’t afford a new dress (or just can’t simply find one), check your wardrobe for something that makes you feel AH-MAZING. Every woman has a dress that makes her feel super sexy, or a certain pair of pants that she looks oh-so-hot in. Find that certain something and add the hottest pair of heels you can find, some eye-catching statement jewelry, and sultry red lipstick. If you are wearing a LBD, add some interest with patterned or lace tights. Start with a neutral base and add pops of color with shoes, jewelry, lipstick, or a handbag. The key to all this is to feel sexy and confident. This will put you in the party mood and ready to take on anything the New Year throws at you! 

You don’t have to spend a fortune on a new outfit to look fabulous on New Year’s. All you have to do is re-vamp something that is already hanging in your closet!

I’m thinking about adding a new line of jewelry to Bellaposa Collections. “Mixed Vintage” will be a mix of old and new. The pieces in this line will have elements found in antique stores and flea markets around the area. I got this idea when I scored all kinds of great finds at an antique store this weekend. The Anna Necklace is the first to be a part of this new development because it’s crystal pendant is from an antique chandelier. Let me know your thoughts!
